Made appointment to view Land Rover Discovery Sport. Shortest test drive in history. Father checked I wasn’t a lawyer for a living. Son felt bad, but did what father told him. Son reminded me I had AA cover before I set off for home! Sure enough engine nearly blew up same day. Returned car for refund. Son told me they could repair it. Returned car on trailer not repaired as confirmed by two independent specialists. Denied me refund on pretext that I’d agreed to them repairing it. Fobbed me off with £1000 refund. Since found out I have 6 years to claim. So considering taking court action for losses (£7500).

If you buy a car from Kings Road Garage you’d do well to read up on the Sales of Goods Act and Consumer Rights Act so that you can push back when they deny you a refund for selling you a car with a serious engine fault. What should have been a joyous experience turned into an absolute nightmare. Buy from these guys at your peril. Cost me £7500 to cut my financial loses, but the toll on my mental health and anguish is never-ending. Read all their Google Reviews not just the 5 star ones, and you will see that I’m not the only one who fell for their polished and well rehearsed persona.

In my experience, Kings Road Garage can be trusted as a very fair dealer. I could not complete my exchange for 3 weeks after paying my deposit but Kieran was fine with this. On the day of the collection, a small fault occurred with the front indicator lens. Kieran called his supplier right away and a replacement was soon on its way to my home

I should have sued under the Sales of Goods and Consumer Rights Acts but accepted a paltry £1000 refund. Warranty they sell is not worth the paper. You have been warned!

Used their services for car servicing over the years and cannot fault the service, always upfront with costs etc and no issues post service.

DO NOT BUY from Kings Garage.
We purchased a Range Rover sport in April 2024. Luckily we bought it through a finance company.
To cut the long story short, the engine seized and the garage refused to accept responsibility. This was after a report was carried out by an independent agent that deemed the vehicle was not fit for purpose at the point of sale. Don’t be taken in by the charm of the sales person. The fact that the company is an approved Range Rover dealer is also a concern.
We have just had our case resolved (March 2025) with a positive outcome from the finance the company.
Please learn from our experience and do not be fooled in to purchasing a vehicle from this company.

I’ve recently purchased a Porsche 993 from Kieran at Kings Rd Garage. From start to finish the whole experience/process was first class. I viewed the car , which looked absolutely mint for a 30 year old car, but wanted it inspected by a Porsche professional. This was arranged with no issues, and the car was given a glowing report. A couple of minor points , Kieran fixed these no problem before collection. Collected the car, a few weeks later (live in the North West) , and enjoyed the drive home.

My F type unfortunately broke down with issues over the injectors. Jaguar were not able to help until mid Jan so I found this company online who specialize with Jags. They took the car in straight away and diagnosed the issue, within 48 hours I had the keys back and fixed. Very friendly company and felt in safe hands.

Have just purchased our second Jaguar from Kings Road Garage. The whole process went without any hitches or issues and Kieran was extremely helpful from first viewing to collecting the vehicle which looked “as new” when we picked it up. Also we were happy that the “extras” had been taken care of – Tracker fitted and private plates sorted.

Buying a car sight unseen, especially a 25 year old Jagiuar, can be a nerve-wracking experience. Kieran was knowledgeable, dependable, and worked with us through a relatively complex transaction (we were flying in from overseas to purchase the car). When we finally saw the car in person, it was exactly as described.

The big difference to the run of the mill garages, though, was with after sales service. Like most 25 year old Jags, there were a few teething problems. Nothing serious, but Kieran was always there and responsive with extremely helpful advice.

I would not hesitate to use Kings Road Garage again, and give them my hearty recommendation.

Just updating my review, after 2 years. I brought the car back to Kings Road garage, Now they sold it for me. I didn’t have to do anything. They are organize everything for me and it’s super easy. I definitely recommend.

I have bought twice from Kings Road Garage in the past 9 months and have found them highly professional, helpful and trustworthy from beginning to end, and all cars come with a new MOT, service and 6 months warranty for piece of mind. I’d highly recommend them.

Ben, Kiaran and colleagues had my 1998 jaguar xk8 in for service, mot and some paintwork while I was away on holiday. Everything was sorted out for my return.
Their service is so much better than the main dealers. I am lucky to have specialists available so close by. Friendly and efficient service and no surprises when you get the bill.

This is the second car I’ve bought from Kings Road and Kieran. The first was a Jaguar F-Type and the latest is a Range Rover Sport. Both experiences of dealing with Kieran have been excellent both pre and post sale.

Two independent specialists both diagnosed the same fault which you said had been fixed, but the warranty company were less than helpful.

It has been a nightmare over 1 year on stuck with a faulty car and no financial help with the cost of repair.

The car was eventually PX’d for £8k less than it cost under a year ago which is a big hit for anyone to take!

Not one to usually leave negative reviews, but so frustrated by the whole experience it only seemed fair and reasonable. Could have gone into much more detail, but think in the circumstances the review is a fair one and having contacted AutoTrader and feefo, they advised that it was appropriate in the circumstances.
05/01/24 – pushback from dealership to cancel this review so evidence submitted to Google of timeline from reviewed dealership fix, two Independent Vehicle Specialist opinions and finally confirmation from current seller of their diagnosis and work carried out to fix loud rattle that reviewed dealership advised was normal for a diesel vehicle with 50k on the clock!
As stated previously, this is intended to be an impartial review and clearly reviewed dealership has been left highly positive reviews; however this was my experience and outcome having purchased a prestige vehicle from them.

Not best pleased after having spent 30 grand on a car with them. Consider your transaction with them wisely prior to sale.

Update: motor ombudsman now involved. Save yourselves the hassle and shop elsewhere.

Recently sold my Jaguar F Type Convertible to Kings. The price secured was above my estimate, communication great, collection and dispatch! Brilliant.

Recently bought a 2014 reg Defender 110 after much researching. Kieran was very responsive to messages, the photos on the website reflected the car’s real condition, the pricing was not inflated, it was really just a frictionless purchase without pressure for bone fide buyers. Also nice to know that they are real mechanics with a modern workshop, so you know that anything obvious has been found. Highly recommended.

Spotted my dream car, exactly the spec that I wanted but unfortunately 500 miles away.

I was luckily down for an unrelated thing so nipped across to have a look. No pushy sales tactics and then once home in Scotland we organised everything long distance including part exchanging my own car.
Very relaxed, easy going transaction.
I drove down a week later, swapped the cars and had smiles per miles all the way home!

The sales experience was good however after sales disappointing. The Defender I bought required repair within three months and the third party warranty only covered a small portion of the costs. Much of the additional labour is required by the warranty company to reveal faults but they won’t pay for that work. Kings Road Garage refusing to make any good will contribution to acknowledge the car broke down so soon after purchase. I like Kieran and the team but feel let down.

Nothing is too much trouble, friendly, reliable and calm. Great service, great advice.
